Associate Pofessor Rob McCauley's main research interest is the effect of man-made noise in the marine environment on marine animals. Rob obtained his BSc (Zoology and Marine Biology) and PhD (Biological Sea Noise in Northern Australia: Patterns of Fish Calling) from James Cook University in Queensland.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Primary area of interest is underwater acoustics, specifically passive bio-acoustics. Recent work includes active acoustics for biomass assessment. Experienced in: obtaining and analysing sea noise recordings; analysis of underwater acoustic signals and sound transmission information; experimental work on effects of noise on marine animals.
